Privacy Policy
Last updated: Dec 8th, 2025
Hi, I’m David. I built espinosanotes.com to share my thoughts on software development. Since it’s just me running this site, I want to be completely transparent about what happens with your data.
My philosophy is simple: I don’t want your personal data unless I absolutely need it to make the site work (like sending you an email you asked for).
1. What I Collect (and Why)
I try to keep data collection as close to zero as possible. Here is exactly what I track:
Website Analytics
I use Plausible.io to see how many people visit the site and which articles are popular. I chose Plausible specifically because:
- It doesn’t use cookies.
- It doesn’t track you across the internet.
- All data is aggregated and anonymous. I can see that “someone” visited a page, but I have no idea who that “someone” is.
The Mailing List
If you sign up for my newsletter, I collect your email address.
- Why? So I can send you the new articles you asked for. That’s it.
- My promise: I will never sell your email to anyone. I hate spam as much as you do.
2. Who Sees Your Data?
Just me. And the tools I use to run the site (like the email service provider). I don’t share or sell your data to advertisers or third parties.
3. Your Control
- Newsletters: You can unsubscribe anytime. There’s a link at the bottom of every email I send. Once you unsubscribe, you’re off the list.
- Analytics: Since Plausible doesn’t track personal data, there’s nothing to “delete” or “opt-out” of—it already respects your privacy by default.
4. Updates to This Policy
I might update this page if I change tools or features in the future. If I do, I’ll update the date at the top.
5. Questions?
If you have any questions or just want to say hi, feel free to email me at david@espinosanotes.com. I’ll do my best to get back to you personally.
